Sadlers Creek State Park
This was our Valentines Day Weekend Family Trip. This great little campground is located near Clemson, SC on Lake Hartwell and has great views of the lake and beautiful sunsets to enjoy. It was quite, secluded and it allowed the kids to run around on the shores of the lake far from us but within our view so they were able to feel adventurous without being out of our watch.
The wind for February was a bit blustery and cold but it settled down enough at night for us to have a nice fire and with the help of some local deadwood in the trees allowed us to only spend about $15 on firewood for 2 nights of large bonfires.
We found that we could take a couple of long walks on multiple trails that led to different interesting places…one in particular was a dead end road that led to a secluded beach and an island separated by a sandbar that we could walk around. We noticed tracks of deer and small rodents all around it but didn’t see anything this trip.
We didn’t have the greatest internet service but found another campground loop that appeared to have better Sprint service.
